Blessedly Over a Hump

Well still suffering from respiratory problems and asthma since the beginning of the year. Finally got my doctor in increase the amount of prednisone so I feel like I am coming out of a fog. Just in time too. I am nattering on a knit/crochet forum that is not public yet...Ravelry..and there are sections for so many interests in life. One little group of us got together to commisserate regarding our prolonged respiratory problems this winter. It would sound gross...well yeah, it is gross.. to put in a general blog but I picked up a lot of tips and plan to use them daily to get better.

Just in time too because a 12 year old girl died of the flu per today's Star Tribune. She too was asthmatic. I feel sorry for the family but I feel the family was irresponsible because they did not get her a flu shot knowing that she had asthma. The reporter covering the story wrote that the girl did not get a flu shot "because her mother did not have health insurance". Talk about liberal bias. Since when do most health carriers cover flu shots?!!! Mine does not. I pay out of pocket every year as I have done for many years....and I am not rich. This type of thing gets my goat. People know what they need to do and do not do it. And then the government steps in and says ...you didn't do it so we will do it for you...and take away real risk based insurance. This is getting scary. There is such a hue and cry for "universal health care" with no regard to the excellent insurance out there ...many different types of plans etc.
